New musical obsession:
the Dresden Dolls.
I'm really into the whole duo thing. Especially when they mix non-standard rock music.
Ya'll should check it out. Anton and Erin, you two especially I think would like them (if for different reasons).
(Also they reference Homer/Aristophanes Lysistrata/Iliad in a song! And make it rhyme!)
For your viewing pleasure---three great songs:

Haha it is a good rec indeed, though I must confess I am already familiar with them. Ryan and I found their "Coin-Operated Boy" pretty obnoxious and laughable sophomore year, but of course the love and adulation heaped upon them by a charming fellow in whom I was interested drove me to give them a second look. Their aesthetic is very similar to the one that's sort of my operating mode for fashion and style - NOT Goth, but rather more cabaret and stripes. I'm still working on piecing together a Brechtian steampunk cabaret aesthetic though...
Also: if you're only dabbling in their first album, you definitely need to check out the second as well, if nothing else than for "My Alcoholic Friends."
Amanda Palmer from the DD is playing with the Boston Pops in June. I can hook yo ass up if you come visit. :)
